Overview

Board Certified in Oncology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Ashok Kumar is fellowship-trained in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences and the Myeloma Institute for Research & Therapy in Little Rock, Arkansas. He completed his residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in affiliation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  

Dr. Kumar relocated to South Florida in 2015 and worked with the Cancer Center at West Palm Beach VA Medical Center where he participated in teaching sessions and mentored medical students and residents from the University of Miami. He has been involved in several presentations and collaborated on various tumor boards.  

In practice for more than 25 years, Dr. Kumar joined SunState Medical Specialists in 2018. He has expertise in treating benign hematology, lymphoma, myeloma, lung cancer, GI tumors and breast cancer among other conditions.
