James K. Gerstley

James K Gerstley, MD is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist who recently joined SunState Medical Specialists, bringing more than three decades of clinical and leadership experience in cancer Care. Dr Gerstley earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his residencies in Internal Medicine from Thomas Jefferson University and Radiation Oncology from Yale. 

He began his career with Radiation Therapy Consultants in Winter Park Florida in 1988. In 1999 he moved to NY and became the Director of Radiation Oncology at Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack NY, a role he held until 2023. During his tenure, he led the growth and advancement of the radiation oncology program and played a central role in expanding cancer care services within the community.
