Dulce M. Barrios

Dr. Dulce M. Barrios, MD, is a radiation oncologist treating patients at two locations in Wellington, Fl. She completed her undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Master of Science at Columbia University in New York City. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, where she also completed a preliminary medicine internship. She then completed her radiation oncology residency at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, New York, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year of training.

Dr. Barrios has a strong background in clinical research, quality improvement, and patient-centered oncology care. Before residency, she completed a clinical research fellowship in oncodermatology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where her work focused on dermatologic complications of cancer therapies. Her research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology; Annals of Oncology; Breast Cancer Research and Treatment; and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics.

Her clinical interests include breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, brachytherapy, skin-related effects of cancer treatment, and improving access to high-quality radiation oncology care. During residency, Dr. Barrios led a hospital-wide quality improvement initiative to implement an illustrated decision aid for older women with low-risk, early-stage breast cancer following lumpectomy. She also contributed to resident education initiatives as Chief Resident, including clinical didactics, new patient conference structure, and physics board review.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Barrios is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care and helping patients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their cancer treatment.
